Local Entrepreneur Attends Special White House Screening of Hungarian Film “Children of Glory”
The affair was held to express American gratitude for Hungarian contributions to the United States

ROSWELL, Ga - October 29, 2006 - Andrea Lauer-Rice, founder and CEO of Lauer Learning was one of 48 special guests of President George W. Bush at a recent White House private dinner and special screening of 'Children of Glory', (Szabadság, szerelem) produced by Hungarian film producer Andrew G. Vajna. It was the first Hungarian film ever shown at the White House.

The film is set against the backdrop of the 1956 Hungary and portrays the '56 Hungarian Revolution and the Hungarian people 'longing to break the bonds of tyranny'. Vajna (Terminator 3 and Basic Instinct 2) produced the film and released it in Budapest this month in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution. According to White House officials the event served to express American gratitude for the contributions of Hungarians to the United States and to global freedom and democracy.

“This is a tremendous honor,” said Lauer Rice, who was invited to the screening in recognition for her work in raising the visibility and awareness of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution through products developed by Lauer Learning. “As a child and grandchild of freedom fighters, I grew up knowing about the importance of this event to our history. Being recognized for my work to preserve that history and legacy is wonderful.”
